Walking and Talking – a different approach to counselling

As an alternative to a conventional talking therapy taking place in the confines of a room, I offer the option of combining counselling sessions whilst walking in the natural environment.

I believe that by talking about problems whilst walking in a natural outdoor environment can give a clearer perspective, helping clients to foster change.

Recent research has shown that spending time in the natural environment can have significant benefits to our mental wellbeing. It can help to de-stress as rhythmic exercise has a calming effect. It can also improve low mood, anxiety, reduce symptoms of depression and lower blood pressure.

We walk at a pace that suits you with sessions lasting approximately 50 minutes.  I offer this outdoor counselling in parks along seafront promenades or well used South Down paths depending on individual’s abilities, within a 20 miles radius of Midhurst, West Sussex.
